New Vision Dance Co. was founded in Seattle in 2006 by Artistic Director Melissa Gould. As a faculty member of a performing arts high school, The Washington Academy of Performing Arts, she had a group of dancers who wanted to continue performing her choreography. They rented space out of a local gym and created New Vision Dance Co. In the six years the company was in Seattle, Melissa worked with over 30 dancers and collaborated with many other companies as guest artists. They started by sharing the stage of Issaquah Dance Theatre during their biannual shows. Eventually the company started producing their own shows in small black box theatre venues, and their last three concerts were sold out events.
In 2013, the company relocated to Columbus, Ohio. Beginning with just three dancers in December of that year, the company quickly grew to 19 dancers by February and held their first concert in 2014. Their repertory includes Jazz, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre dance, which has been presented in concerts and as guest artists for showcases around Columbus.
New Vision Dance Co. is a 501c3 non-profit organization the relies on the generosity of our donors in order to fulfill our mission to create, celebrate and inspire dance by engaging the community through educational programs, quality performances and the creation of new choreography.
