Beginner Belly Dance 9-10am – Maela Belly Dance
We will focus on basic belly dance moves for beginner students. The class will include a short warm-up, basic belly dance moves, a fun combo, and a cool-down. Maela has studied the beautiful art of belly dance for the last 20+ years. Her style is Classical Raqs Sharqi. She is based in Columbus, Ohio, where she teaches weekly classes and performs professionally for various events. |
Zumba 9-10am – Samantha Davis
A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. Hi I'm Samantha! I am a high school teacher and have been teaching Zumba for the past 10 years. I currently teach Zumba and Hip Hop step at the Eldon & Eloise YMCA on Woodland Ave. |
Modern 9-10am – Melissa Hinchman
This modern class explores the use of release and momentum to inform and guide our movement as we spiral, slide, and glide into the floor and air. Class will feature a warm up, across the floor, and finish with a combination. Melissa Hinchman holds a BFA in Dance from The Ohio Sate University. She has taught ages 3 to adult over the past 13 years at Columbus DanceArts Academy and is the founder and Artistic Director of Cultivate Dance Project, a Columbus-based, professional contemporary dance company. Her work has been featured in City Dance Showcase, Cleveland Dance Fest, Columbus Arts Festival, and New Albany Dance Festival. |
Conditioning for Dancers 10-11am – Lisa Keller
Unlock deeper mobility and safely increase your range of motion. Sometimes stretching isn't the most efficient method. Learn to identify points of weakness, exercises to increase stability, and methods to increase flexibility. Lisa has been a professional performer, freelance choreographer and dance educator for almost 20 years. Many of her former students are working professional dancers and/or have attended prestigious programs such as Point Park and Marymount Manhattan among others. Lisa is the Director of Diversion Dance Collective in Worthington, OH. |
Intermediate Tap 10-11am – Michael Musarra
Tap class focusing on combos with shifting rhythms, intricate footwork, dynamics, and high energy dancing. Michael has been dancing since the age of 2, and has been teaching for 10 years now, currently on staff at 5 studios. He’s worked with many dance schools in-state, and out of state to hold workshops, master classes, and choreograph award winning competition routines. He’s also held the title of Junior, Teen, and Mr. Dance of Ohio with the Ohio Dance Masters Organization, which he’s recently judged, and taught several convention classes for. |
Beginner Hula 11am-12pm – Aizel Cabungcal
Our dance lesson will be a basic Hawaiian hula called Hukilau. All levels are welcome, no experience necessary. Aloha! Mahana Productions is a Polynesian Dance Group based in central Ohio. Our goal is to perpetuate the Polynesian culture through music and dance. We perform dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand and Samoa. |
Movement for Adults over 50 11am-12pm – Sarah Ramey
Cultivate strength, coordination and creativity in this dance class designed for adults over 50. Using principles from contemporary dance and improvisation, this class offers opportunities to move and create in a supportive environment. Class can be taken seated or standing. Sarah Ramey is a dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Columbus, Ohio. She co-directs Perennial Movement Group, a program of dance classes and performance opportunities for adults over 50. She was a member of Liz Lerman Dance Exchange from 2006-2013 and received her MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University. |
Afrofusion 11am-12pm – Brianna Rhodes
Afro-fusion is a come as you are class that teaches you the fusion of dance styles created by Black people. Includes but not limited to Afrobeats, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Vogue, West African. Come dance, come move and groove, and come to have a great time and liberate the spirit. Brianna Rhodes is a dancer, dance teacher, choreographer, and poet based in Columbus, Ohio. Recently she performed at the Apollo Theatre with the Dianne McIntyre Group as well as attended the American Dance Festival. She is a hard working artists focused on storytelling, community, technique, and freedom of spirit through the medium of dance. |
Acting for Dancers 12-1pm – Elliot Lemberg
Through a variety of acting exercises, dancers will learn how to build a believable character for their pieces and motivate that character's movement onstage. Elliott Lemberg has been the Artistic Director for the New Albany High School Theatre Department for over 17 years. He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Directing and Theatre Education and from Ashland University with a Masters in Education. Mr. Lemberg has directed over 50 amateur and professional productions. |
Sound Bath Meditation 12:30-1:30pm – Sandra Solano
Dr. Sandra Solano will invite the sounds of the Himalayan Singing Bowls and Gong to immerse you in a unique experience of vibration and sound. Enjoy sounds that will bring you to a quick state of deep relaxation. The purpose of this session is not to treat a specific illness or medical problem but rather to improve the energy flow throughout the body/mind/spirit pathways. Individuals will experience a deep relaxation response to physical/emotional/spiritual health issues. Sandra Solano, M.D., M.S., born in Bogota, Colombia, is a healthcare professional with 30 years of experience as a Healthcare Executive and consultant and now has her own practice in New Albany, Ohio. Dr. Solano is now dedicated to integrating science-based tools and skills to empower individuals, teams, and organizations to increase emotional self-regulation and stress management. |
Musical Theater for Children 1-2pm – Mikey Thomas
Mikey presents a fun movement in a musical theater aesthetic. The class is great for dancers of all ages and abilities! MIKEY THOMAS has lifelong experiences in a wide variety of dance techniques. He has danced for ballet, and modern dance companies, performed in musical theater, is the founder of Movement Activities an aerial dance training space, and a college professor at major institutions worldwide. Mikey's classes come from an approach that is sensitive to the skills and abilities every individual participant brings! |
Dancing through the Rhythms of the World 1-2pm – Pam Conn
Join us for an easy-to-follow Dance Experience. We will dance to amazing music from around the world. Get ready to have fun, let loose, and enjoy beautiful and inspiring music. Pamela has taught Dance Fitness for 15 years. She loves Zumba, Hip-Hop, and La Blast Fitness. Pamela has trained with Louis Van Amstel from Dancing with the Stars. Pamela is a Functional Nutrition and Personal Trainer. |
Contemporary Fusion 2-3pm – Camryn Nease
Contemporary class combined with grooves and flow from other styles. Camryn is a choreographer and performer from Columbus, Ohio. She received her BFA in Dance from The Ohio State Univerisity and is headed to University of Iowa this fall to pursue her MFA in Dance on fellowship. She has been a part of Whirlwind Dance with Joshua Manculich for two years and is also a Pure Barre instructor. |
Introduction to Flamenco dancing 2-3pm – Gabriela Flamenco Academy
Sevillanas and rumba Flamenco class An energetic and fun class where you'll learn the fundamentals of flamenco, including: - Body coordination and posture - Hand movement and arm placement - Feet percussion and rhythm Gabriela, originally from Venezuela, has over 20 years of flamenco experience. She has performed on stages in Venezuela, Panama, and the United States, and in 2020, she opened her own academy in Columbus. Gabriela continues to share her passion for flamenco through teaching and performing, expanding flamenco dancing around Ohio. |
Beginner Ballroom 2-3pm – Patty Petecca
Learn how to social ballroom dance for school dances, weddings and other social gatherings. We will cover Foxtrot, Waltz, Rhumba, Cha Cha, Swing and Electric Slide. Using a variety of music: classic, country & rock. You will learn basics of leading/following. I had been teaching various forms of dance in the Cleveland area for over 25 years and most recently at J.A.Z. Dance and More. I am a former dancer and studio owner. Currently, you may recognize me from Opening Night! in Gahanna. |
Preschool Dance 3-3:45pm – Dani Siefker
Pre-School Dance will be a fun class with upbeat music where our younger students can independently explore rhythms and movement. We will be focusing on gross motor movement, basic technique and classroom etiquette that can translate over to any activities or classes! Dani is the owner of Lima Dance Academy and has been teaching across the region for 14 years. She enjoys sharing her love for dance with every student she meets and can’t wait to dance with you! |
Intermediate Musical Theatre 4-4:30pm – Melissa Gould
We'll enjoy a short combo of musical theatre choreography taught at a fast pace! Melissa Gould received her B.A in Dance at San Jose State University and enjoyed a professional dance career which included contracts in Japan, Las Vegas and Korea. Melissa is the Director of the New Albany MS Theatre Dept. As Artistic Director and founder of New Vision Dance Co., Melissa is known for her intense dance style, challenging classes and entertaining choreography. |
Beginner Hip Hop 4:30-5pm – Jessica Gould
An easy beginner class where you'll learn a fun hip hop combo. Jessica Gould is a Capital University graduate with a degree in English. She has been a member of New Vision Dance Company for four seasons. She is a dance instructor at BalletMet and Village Creative Dance. |

Pure Barre Classic 9-10am – Kelsey Perin
Join us for a 45 minute Pure Barre workout that is going to target every single muscle of the body using low impact, isometric movements. Kelsey is the owner of Pure Barre Columbus: Grandview, Dublin and New Albany. She is a past dance of New Vision Dance Company and the proud mama to two littles: Millie and Mavi! |
Intermediate Contemporary 9-10am – Morgan Sandlin
Exploring contemporary through the lense of character development. How can we curate purposeful tension and redirect it as a way to help our bodies tell a story? Let’s learn together! Morgan sandlin is a professional contemporary dancer, artist, and choreographer currently dancing and making in Columbus, Ohio with, WhirlWind Dance. She obtained her BFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University in 2021, and since has restaged and created new work on companies and studios around the U.S. As an artist she is constantly striving to create work that dives in her own subconscious tension patterns, and aims to create those patterns into a unique “character” , using dance a form of play and healing for herself and viewers. |
Intermediate/Advanced Jazz 9-10am – Myles Lawson
Join intermediate jazz dance with Myles to enhance your technique and performance skills. Learn a fun and challenging routine through dynamic sessions, perfect for experienced dancers ready to elevate their style and expressiveness. Myles Lawson began choreographing in Columbus and working professionally as a dancer at 16. Recently, Myles received BroadwayWorld Columbus nominations for Best Choreography and is thrilled to share his passion for dance with students and studios. |
Tap Progressions 10-10:30am – Kirsten Frison
Develop your understanding of rhythm, speed, and sound with tap progressions! A variety of drills will be taught using a series of short combinations exploring basic through advanced concepts that you can use to strengthen your tap training. Exercises will focus on building coordination, speed of movement, and flexibility of the knees, feet and ankles. It is recommended that participants know basic tap vocabulary and be able to distinguish and perform various rhythms using a moderate tempo, but all levels are welcome. Kirsten Frison is a dance instructor with over 10 years experience. She danced competitively growing up and completed several short-term training courses with renowned artists at programs including Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway in New York City. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in Arts Management and a minor in Dance. Kirsten is also a company member of New Vision Dance Co. |
Contemporary Flow and Form 10-11am – Kenny Brown
An exploration of dynamics and movement quality through Contemporary style movement that helps bring authentic expression forward. Kenneth Brown is a homegrown dancer, choreographer, director, and instructor with over 2 decades of experience in a variety of genres. He has taught and choreographed in spaces as varied as recreation centers to college campuses and professional companies all with the same focus on authenticity and expression. |
Hip Hop 10-11am – Shannon Filmore ft. Tk mega dancers
First 15 mins of class will be warm up. Full body stretch and a work through basic drills to ease into choreography they will be done later in class. J. Shannon Filmore is a graduate of Fort Hayes Performing Arts High School, where his passion for dance began. He's worked closely with various recording artists as a dancer and choreographer/creative director for live performances, in music videos, and on tours. Shannon is the President of Tru Kingdom Mega Crew Inc., an all-styles dance crew he co-founded in 2017. |
Mommy and Me 11-11:30am – Dani Siefker
